Popular Churchill Show comedian Stella Bunei Koitie, famously known as Jemutai, has officially declared her interest in vying for the Elgeyo Marakwet County Woman Representative seat in the 2027 General Election.
She announced that she intends to run on President William Ruto’s UDA party ticket, saying she will release more details soon about this bold new chapter.
“I Understand Women Better,” she stated in her official announcement, highlighting her commitment to championing their needs.
Jemutai’s entry into politics adds another twist to her already inspiring journey. Known for her sharp humor, humility and relatable storytelling, she rose to national fame through the Churchill Show, where she portrayed a shy, witty village girl whose jokes resonated widely across the country.
Beyond comedy, she has built a strong online presence through skits and social commentary, often highlighting social issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.
Her move into public leadership doesn’t come as a surprise to many fans who have watched her shift toward advocacy and community-focused conversations in recent years. Supporters say her deep connection with youth and women could give her a strong foundation in the 2027 race.
