Postmoterm: How Ex-Treasury Official Tom Osinde Died

A post-mortem examination of ex-Treasury official Tom Osinde’s body revealed that he died from two slash wounds.

Dr. Johansen Oduor, a government pathologist who performed an autopsy on Osinde’s body at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, revealed that the cuts caused brain damage and spine injury.

The one-and-a-half-hour autopsy was intended to assist homicide detectives in piecing together the events that led to his untimely death and solving the murder puzzle.

Dr. Oduor told Citizen TV over the phone that the slash wounds ran from the back of the head to the spine, injuring the spine, and that the other slash wound went deep into the brain.

The crucial exercise took place on Friday afternoon in the presence of family members and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) sleuths.

Osinde’s body will be taken to a morgue in Nakuru.

Osinde was last seen alive at his home on Sunday, June 18, 2023, before his mysterious disappearance, for which he is presumed to have been murdered.

His body was discovered floating on the River Kuja in Kamagambo, at the border of Migori and Kisii counties, on June 22.
