Power Bills Stagnate Amid Rising Cost Of Living

Government interventions have prevented changes in electricity prices for seven consecutive months since January of this year.

This is due to the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s continued imposition of the Water Levy, Foreign Exchange Fluctuations, and Fuel Cost Charge tariff rates (EPRA).

The preservation of tariffs has helped to preserve the 15% reduction in electricity bills that went into effect in January as part of government initiatives to reduce the cost of electricity in the country.

As a result, the cost of 50 kilowatt hours of power for 50 units has remained constant at 796 shillings and 83 cents, while it has remained constant at 4373 shillings and 12 cents for 200 units.
