An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the United States after throwing a sex toy during a WNBA game, striking a man and his 9-year-old niece.

The suspect, identified as Kaden Lopez, was attending the Phoenix Mercury’s game against the Connecticut Sun on August 5 when he allegedly removed a green adult toy from his sweater and threw it toward the seats in front of him.

According to court documents, the object hit a man in the back before falling near his niece.

Video footage reportedly captured the moment Lopez threw the item before quickly attempting to leave the area.

A witness, believed to be an arena volunteer, followed Lopez and tackled him before handing him over to authorities.

In a statement to police, the adult male victim said he had been watching the game with his niece when something struck his back. Upon checking, he realized it was a sex toy.

He has since expressed his intention to press charges.

During police questioning, Lopez admitted to the act and called it a “stupid prank” that was trending on social media.

He revealed that he had purchased the sex toy the day before with the intention of bringing it to the game, although he claimed he didn’t mean to hit anyone or target a child.

Court records indicate that Lopez has been charged with disorderly conduct, assault, and public display of explicit sexual material.

Both WNBA officials and PHX Arena management have expressed their desire to pursue legal action against Lopez.

This incident marks the fourth case in recent weeks involving individuals throwing sex toys during WNBA games, raising concerns about growing disruptive behavior at sports events.
