President William Ruto has appointed former Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General (Rtd) Robert Kibochi to chair the board ofMwai Kibaki Referral Hospital.
Kibochi was appointed for three years, beginning November 22, 2024, according to the gazette notice.
Kibochi is a former Kenya Army general who has served in the Kenya Defence Forces for over four decades, holding senior posts at all levels of command and staff until becoming the 10th Chief of Defence Forces. He held the position from May 2020 to May 2023.
Kibochi took over from Gen. Samson Mwathethe, a naval officer, who was named the CDF on April 17, 2015, replacing Gen. Julius Karangi from Kenya Air Force.
Also appointed by the President on Friday is former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo.
Ruto appointed Gumbo to be the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenya Sugar Board, for a period of three years, with effect from November 22, 2024.
