President William Ruto has nominated Francis Meja for appointment as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
An Executive Order issued on January 21 confirmed that Meja continues to serve as a Member of the PSC, a position he has held since January 2025.
“His Excellency the President has today nominated Mr. Francis Meja for appointment as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission,” read part of the statement.
In line with constitutional requirements for State appointments, President Ruto has transmitted Meja’s nomination to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament.
The seat of the PSC Chair fell vacant after Ambassador Antony Muciri was appointed by President William Ruto to serve as Kenya’s Ambassador to Turkey in August 2025.
52 applications were received by the close of the PSC advertisement period on November 20, 2025.
