President Ruto Donates Ksh.2 Million to Endarasha Hillside Academy Following Tragic Fire Incident

In a show of solidarity and support, President William Ruto has donated Ksh.2 million to Endarasha Hillside Academy in Nyeri, which is in desperate need of aid following a devastating fire that resulted in the tragic deaths of 21 students.

The blaze consumed the school dormitory, claiming the lives of predominantly boys, while sparking public outcry and distress among the affected families.

Addressing congregants during a church service in Nyeri on Sunday, Ruto expressed his commitment to facilitating the burials of the victims and pledged to ensure that all families affected by this disaster receive support.

He appointed Kieni Member of Parliament Njoroge Wainaina to oversee the distribution of aid as investigations into the cause of the deadly fire continue.

“I will send you again there with Ksh.2 million to buy items for those whose belongings were burnt, so that our children can go back to school,” Ruto stated, underscoring his government’s dedication to helping the students recover from this tragedy and return to their education.

According to State House Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, of the 330 pupils residing in the boarding facility, all girls have returned home safely.

However, the parents of the 21 deceased boys are still in the process of identifying their children, as autopsies are being performed at Naromoru Level 4 Hospital to assist with the identification process.

In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, President Ruto assured that once investigations are completed, he would collaborate with the school’s director, David Kinyua, to assist in restoring the academy and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students.
