President Ruto To Jet Out For A 2-Day Visit To South Africa

President William Ruto on Tuesday afternoon will jet out of the country for a two-day visit to the Republic of South Africa.

According to an official statement released by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the purpose of this visit is to address the Third Pan African Parliamentarians Summit on Climate Policy and Equity.

Ruto will represent Kenya in his capacity as the Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC).

The Pan African Parliamentarians Summit aims to discuss climate policy and equity, addressing the pressing challenges posed by climate change.

“President William Ruto will this afternoon embark on a two-day visit to the Republic of South Africa to address the Third Pan African Parliamentarians Summit on Climate Policy and Equity in his capacity as the Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC),” the press release read.

The outcomes of this summit, in conjunction with the agenda items related to trade, will provide valuable input for the upcoming inaugural Africa Climate Action Summit.

This significant event is scheduled to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from the 4th to the 6th of September 2023.
