President Ruto Unveils 7-Member Team For Bipartisan Talks With Azimio

President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza parliamentary group have finally unveiled a 7-member team of legislators that will engage in dialogue with the Azimio team.

The team was announced on Tuesday during a Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Ruto.

The team of lawmakers set to spearhead the Kenya Kwanza negotiations includes Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale who will lead the faction in the bipartisan talks.

Other members included were Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan, Tharaka MP George Murugara, nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri, Taita Taveta Woman Representative Lydia Haika, Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei and Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.

Ruto’s faction remained committed to ensuring that the committee adequately addressed the faction’s concerns.

The Parliamentary Group agreed with the President of a Parliamentary bipartisan approach in resolving such matters.

“We agreed with the President on the need to govern the country with the constitution and the rule of law,” read the statement in part.

On the other hand, Azimio will be represented by Senate Minority Whip Ledama Olekina, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna and Senate deputy minority leader Enoch Wambua.

Others in the team are MPs Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), David PKosing (Pokot South), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) and Amina Mnyanzi (Malindi).

The team was picked during an extraordinary Azimio la Umoja parliamentary group meeting in Stoni Athi, Machakos county.
