President Ruto Urges Political Leaders Stop Inciting The Youth To Violence

President William Ruto called on political leaders to refrain from inciting young Kenyans to violence and to instead create better opportunities for the youth. His remarks come at a time of rising political tensions and criticisms of his leadership.

Ruto emphasized that the youth of Kenya are seeking pathways to success rather than conflict. “These young people of Kenya don’t need violence, they don’t need confrontation. They want opportunities, jobs to engage in business,” he stated, urging leaders to prioritize constructive engagement over instigation.

The president’s comments reflect an ongoing concern about the role of political rhetoric in shaping youth behavior. He asserted that those who incite violence are hindering the country’s progress and called on leaders to collaborate in offering solutions rather than fanning the flames of discontent.

“The opportunities are there,” Ruto said, highlighting key areas such as labor migration, ICT hubs, housing, and agriculture as vital for job creation. He urged the youth to enroll in existing government programs aimed at empowering them.

Moreover, Ruto addressed the criticisms leveled against him by political adversaries, including his former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, acknowledging that while dissent is a part of democracy, it must not detract from the government’s transformative agenda.

“Do not worry about those hurling insults because they do not have an alternative plan. But Kenya will move forward. You can take that assurance from me,” Ruto assured his audience.
