President Ruto: We Will Work With All Leaders To Transform Homa Bay

President William Ruto assured Homa Bay residents on Sunday that he will work with all of their elected leaders to address the region’s problems.

Speaking in Homa Bay Town after a church service at Africa Inland Church, Ruto said he is ready to work with all the elected leaders to transform the county and fulfill his promises during the campaign period.

“I want to give you my assurance that I am going to work with all elected leaders of Homa Bay county so that we can transform our country on the basis of the plan we have agreed upon,” said President Ruto.

“You have my commitment that I am going to work with all the leaders that you have elected so that we can tackle the issues that affect the citizens of our republic, the young people of Kenya, the young people and every sector.”

President Ruto also stated that he has already started implementing a few programs, such as addressing poor drainage systems and road construction.

He also stated that he will launch a housing program next month to provide affordable housing to the youth.

“I shall return here next month to implement the housing programme I had promised you so that we ensure our young people are working . I promised you that we will build 5,000 houses and God willing I will come again next year for the phase two where we will build 2,000 houses,” he said.

The head of state added that the time for competition is over and people should move on to try to better things in the country.

“We have to move on and see the changes we can do for our country. That will be possible if we come together and understand that now we are not in competition,” he said.

President Ruto’s visit to the Nyanza region was his first since taking office in September.

However, a number of ODM elected leaders, including Governor Gladys Wanga and MP George Peter Kaluma, declined to attend the church service.
