President Uhuru To Lead Labor Day Fete

Kenya has joined the rest of the world in commemorating Labor Day today.

Every year, the day is commemorated with the goal of informing workers and laborers about their rights.

It is a significant day because labor is the foundation of all work. Kenyans will be led by the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) in a ceremony that will begin at 9 a.m. at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

In honor of Labour Day, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi declared Monday a public holiday.

The Interior CS stated in a statement that because May 1 falls on a Sunday, the full observance of the day celebrated by workers across the country will be commemorated on that day.
