President Uhuru warns of tougher Containment measures after covid-19 cases spike

President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to excercise responsibility or face new containment measures.

While attending a special Sunday service at the All Saints Cathedral Uhuru urged Kenyans to take personal responsibility in the fight against the virus by observing the Ministry of Health protocols.

“It is possible to keep Covid at bay and still be able to live and lead a normal life. I only wish that this issue of personal responsibility would be taken at heart because truly we are facing a major challenge.”

He acknowledged that the second wave is here with us, and that the surge in numbers has put the Government back to the drawing board, hinting at the possibility of introducing new measures.

Uhuru lauded the Anglican Church for adopting measures to curb the virus.

He added that if all Kenyans behaved the way the church has behaved towards the virus, the Country would be able to move forward without disruptions.

As of 31st. October, Kenya’s caseload rose to 55,192 after a record 1,395 more people had tested positive in the last 24 hours.
