Chris Kiptoo, the National Treasury and Economic Planning PS, was sworn in as a member of the National Heroes Council under the direction of Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Speaking after the swearing, CJ Koome said, “The Council must work towards coming up with ways and avenues through which as a nation we can pay homage for courage, sacrifices and the indomitable spirit that has shaped the identity of our beloved nation.”
In accordance with the Kenya Heroes Act of 2014, the Heroes Council was founded to identify, choose, honour, and recognise national heroes, monuments, and sites both in Kenya and abroad.
During the event, Charles Onyango Wambia was sworn in as Chief Executive Officer of the Council.
