The Government will ensure infrastructure projects are completed in time to ensure prudent utilization of tax payers money.
PS infrastructure Professor Paul Mwangi said the Government was satisfied with the progress of the Nairobi Expressway Project and the Western by pass in Kiambu.

Currently, the Kenya Power is finalising on relocation of power lines within the project area. National Land Commision(NLC) has also finalised on compensation guidelines for compulsory acquired land.

Both are being constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation. Professor Mwangi urged the contractor to ensure that to youth and women are given employment opportunities during the contract period.

The Western by pass is now 30 per cent completed, according to the project manager Eric Yu. The PS toured the material testing laboratory and ordered the contractor to ensure full compliance to standards. The Nairobi Expressway starts at Mlolongo and terminates at James Gichuru. It involves the engineering, design and construction of an elevated road from Bellevue, Nairobi to James Gichuru. Its aimed at eradicating traffic jams within the city, besides making JKIA travel to and from the airport faster.
