The Public Service Commission (PSC) has invited recent university graduates to apply for 1,000 paid internship opportunities under the fourth cohort of the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP).
The programme, run by the Ministry of Education through the State Department for Basic Education, aims to deploy successful applicants to schools across Kenya at the sub-county level.
The internships are part of efforts to boost virtual learning and enhance the use of digital platforms in primary education.
In a notice issued this week, PSC stated that eligible candidates must have graduated in 2020 or later and hold a degree in Education with ICT specialization, a degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
“In addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, the interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms,” the PSC noted.
Applicants must also demonstrate knowledge in networking, applications development, cybersecurity, and project management, along with the ability to integrate ICT in teaching and content development.
Interns will support e-learning, assist teachers with digital tools, and help implement the Digital Literacy Programme in schools.
They will also promote the ethical and secure use of technology in education.
The 12-month internship is non-renewable and comes with a government stipend. Successful interns will receive certificates upon completion.
Applications must be submitted online via the PSC job portal by Monday, June 23, 2025.
Launched in 2016, the DLP is a flagship project under Kenya’s Vision 2030, aiming to equip learners and teachers with digital skills and bridge the technology gap between rural and urban schools.
