The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced the shortlist of six candidates for the position of Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
The announcement was made on Thursday, marking a significant step in the recruitment process.
Shortlisted Candidates
- Charles Ringera – Currently the CEO and Board Secretary at the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
- Dr. Habil Olaka – Former CEO of the Kenya Bankers Association.
- Professor Dulacha Galgallo Barako – A renowned finance professor.
- Gerald Nyaoma Arita – A seasoned banker with notable experience.
- Jane Wangui Kirangai – An economist well-versed in financial matters.
- Florence Koki Kinyanzui – A specialist in financial markets.
The interviews for the candidates are scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 3, at the Public Service Commission House located on Harambee Avenue in Nairobi.
The candidates will be interviewed at staggered intervals, with the first session starting at 9:30 a.m. and the final interview at 2:00 p.m.
All candidates are required to present essential documents during their interviews, which include:
- National ID
- Academic and professional certificates
- Clearances from regulatory bodies such as the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
The vacancy for the Deputy Governor position was announced in March 2023 following the appointment of Susan Koech as Deputy Governor by President William Ruto.
The PSC is encouraging the public to submit any relevant information regarding the candidates through sworn affidavits or official channels. The role of the Deputy Governor is crucial, as the CBK is responsible for monetary policy and financial regulation in Kenya.
