Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho while on a County function in Mtopanga, Kisauni Constituency told the residents that it is Kisauni that gave him the opportunity to serve as the first Governor and now it is the same constituency that will give him the opportunity to be the next President after Uhuru Kenyatta.
He was in Mtopanga ward to officially launch newly built ECDE classrooms and also issue bursaries to needy students in the constituency. He was in the company of Kisuani MP Ali Mbogo.
“I want to tell you (residents) that you are the same people who made me the first Governor of Mombasa and now, you are going to be the same people who will make me the first President in the republic from the Coast region,” said Governor Joho.

Mr Joho has already announced his plans to vie for the Presidency in 2022 using the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket where he is the Deputy party leader.
Recently in another meeting in Mombasa Governor Joho said that he has supported the ODM party for many years even more supporting its leader Raila Odinga for the top seat but now, it is his time to move ahead to vie for the Presidency on an ODM ticket.
In Kilifi while addressing residents after launching the tarmacking of the Mtwapa-Jumba Ruins road, Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi insisted that Governor Amason Kingi is going for the top seat in 2022 and that for the first time, the President will come from Kilifi County.
“We have already calculated and this time, we want the President to come from Kilifi and that is none other than Governor Amason Kingi. We are sending him to the top seat after his term as a President comes to an end next year,” said engineer Saburi.
Governor Kingi has insisted that he will vie for the presidency but using a Coast based coast coalition party.
The Kilifi boss has been in the forefront in pushing for the formation of the Coast coalition political party.
“We shall fold all the other political parties and form a coalition that will give us a bargaining tool at the national cake in 2022,” said Governor Kingi recently.
