Quarry Bodies: All Kware Police Station Officers Transferred As Probe Begins

Acting Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, has made his first major move in his first week in charge. Ag. IG Kanja transferred all police officers from Kware Police Station, where at least 11 bodies have been recovered since Friday.

The transfer comes as the police continue to investigate the gruesome discovery of dismembered bodies near the station in Embakasi South Constituency.

The police are seeking to unravel the truth behind the murders and bring those responsible to justice.

Acting IG Kanja stated that it may take at least 21 days to complete the investigation. He also assured the public that some persons of interest have been identified.

The police have recovered eight bodies from the dumpsite, contrary to reports by locals that claimed there were 20 bodies.

The victims, according to preliminary investigations, suffered similar deaths and were dumped in the same place.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Mohamed Amin said the bodies were at different stages of decomposition, but all had similar characteristics.

He urged the public to cooperate with the investigation, as a hostile and rowdy public is making it challenging for officers to carry out their duties.

“We need cooperation from the public. At least 70 per cent of any investigation’s success depends on how we investigate the crime scene. We cannot make progress if we allow members of the public to contaminate it,” Amin said.
