Robin Ayers has died at the age of 44 after a long battle with cancer.
The American radio host had been fighting the illness for months until her radio station announced her death on Thursday.
In a statement, talk show host Smile said: “On behalf of her precious family, it is with profound sadness that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the passing of our beloved colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 05.”
“Robin was a bright light. You could see her radiant smile through the radio. We all respected her immense talent, loved her jovial spirit, celebrated her love of family, and honoured her faith in God.”
The LA radio host had worked at KBLA 1580 Talk Radio for several years.
Though her cause of death has not been revealed, Ayers last year disclosed that she was battling leiomyosarcoma.
This is an aggressive form of cancer typically in the abdomen or uterus that targets soft tissues.
She is survived by her husband and twin daughters who had both just turned 18 years old during Thanksgiving.
