Raila Convoy Tear-Gassed In Nairobi

Anti-riot police in Nairobi fired tear gas canisters at Azimio La Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga’s motorcade as it left the Serena Hotel near the city centre.

Odinga left the hotel around 2:40 p.m. on Monday, flanked by his co-principal Martha Karua and a slew of opposition leaders including Eugene Wamalwa, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, among others.

The opposition leader is now leading a convoy of vehicles across residential estates after police blocked access to Nairobi’s central business district.

Hundreds of his supporters are part of the procession.

The veteran politician has been making stops at various centres to address supporters.
