Raila: Dont Fall For Mr. Promises

Written By Gerald Gekara  📝

Raila Odinga, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto, urging Kenyans to vet the promises offered by their competitors.

During his coast tour on Sunday, Raila touted his Azimio La Umoja Movement, and his presidential bid as the only solution to problems.

“No more Mr. Promises… We have had promises before of stadiums, laptops and other grand pledges. Now we are being told of bottom up plans. I want to ask Kenyans to resist because this person cannot be trusted,” he said.

The former Prime Minister encouraged Kenyans at Tononoka grounds not to fall for additional promises from leaders who fail to deliver on election campaign promises.

Odinga informed his audience that Ruto lacked integrity and, as a result, could not be trusted to run the country.

“I’ve previously worked with him, and during that time he shown that he is not a man of integrity,” he said.

Odinga reassured his followers that his social economic plan of providing unemployed Kenyans with a monthly stipend of Sh6,000 is feasible and that if elected President, he will close all corruption loopholes.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho urged voters to be confident in Odinga’s candidacy, saying his vision for the region was solid.

“He will undoubtedly deliver, and I request that you vote for him when the time comes,” he stated.

On Monday, Odinga will continue his tour of the coastal region, setting up camp in Taita Taveta County, where he will be entertained by Governor Granton Samboja.
