La Umoja Azimio Raila Odinga of the Kenya Coalition Party is one of the 100 most notable people to have graduated from the University of Leipzig in Germany.
Angela Merkel, Germany’s chancellor from 2005 to 2021, is also among the 100 most notable alumni of the University of Leipzig.
Mr. Odinga is listed at position 41 on the alumni list and is described as “a Kenyan politician, presidential aspirant, and businessman who served as Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013.”
The majority of those on the list were born in Germany, with Mr. Odinga being the only African born on the list.
According to the institution’s profile, Leipzig University was founded in 1409 and is one of Germany’s leading universities in terms of top-tier research and medical expertise.
