Raila Was Better Without Jubilee — Moses Kuria

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has teared into Raila Odinga’s Jubilee Pact claiming the ODM leader had a better chance without the ruling party.

Kuria claims that the new agreement between Azimio la Umoja’s leader and the Jubilee Party has reduced his prospects of winning votes in the Mount Kenya area.

“Without Jubilee, my close buddy Raila Odinga has a greater chance in Mount Kenya. I feel there is a negative net impact for Raila in Mount Kenya rather than a good net impact,” Kuria said in an interview with KTN News.

The Chama cha Kazi party leader added that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led party had lost control of the mountain during the previous decade, and that this would be a setback for Odinga.

“When there is a bad connotation, they say, we don’t get enough money from tea, coffee, milk, or our traders are harassed…all of it comes via Jubilee’s door onto Azimio… You won’t be able to tell anyone anything as long as you’re in that coalition.”

Raila Odinga is expected to be unveiled as the Azimio La Umoja party leader, after being crowned by nearly all the member parties.

Moses Kuria, who had shown signs of joining the faction is currently negotiating a deal with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by Deputy President William Ruto.

Jubilee Party Leader President Uhuru Kenyatta has on many occassions attributed successes to the peace experienced during his second term as president.

In the previously concluded National Delegates Council, President Kenyatta chastised his deputy for attacking the Jubilee administration, and going on a name smearing rampage against his tenure.

The war of words has been met with harsh resistance from DP Ruto’s allies.
