Raila’s Azimio Files An Online Presidential Petition

Maanzo said they were now working on delivering the physical documents to the court to be stamped.

Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s legal team has already filed an electronic copy of the presidential petition challenging President-Elect William Ruto’s victory.

According to one of the lawyers representing Azimio la Umoja One coalition, Lawyer Dan Maanzo, they filed an online petition as they await to file a physical one.

“Yes we have filed the petition online and as lawyers of Azimio we are ready for the petition and we are very confident that we will succeed because the law is on our side,” he told reporters outside the Supreme Court registry at the Milimani Law Courts.

Maanzo said they were now working on delivering the physical documents to the court to be stamped.

“The hard copies will now be brought so that they can be stamped but the online one is already with the court,” he said.

Parties seeking legal redress regarding the presidential results declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati have until today (Monday) 2 pm to file petitions at the Supreme Court.

After filing, the Azimio team is expected to serve respondents within one day, who will then have four days to file their responses.
