Ralf Rangnick has advised one of his Manchester United players to concentrate on the club ahead of the new year

Anthony Martial has spoken with Rangnick about his future, and it doesn’t seem promising.

“Yes, we spoke on Wednesday,” the 63-year-old revealed in his pre-match press conference. We talked for a long time. He told me that he’s been at Manchester United for seven years and that he feels it’s time for a change, that it’s time to move on.

“In some ways, this is understandable; I could follow his thinking, but it’s also vital to consider the club’s current predicament.”

“We have Covid times, and we have three contests where we still have big hopes.”

I reminded him that as long as no club is interested in him, and that it should not just be in the player’s best interests, but also in the best interests of the club.

“As far as I know, there has been no offer from any other team, and he will stay as long as that is the case.”

Martial joined Manchester United in 2015 for a fee of £36 million.

He has 79 goals for the club, but this season he has only one goal to his name as he is second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo.
