Residents Welcome Footbridge At TMall

Written By Gerald Gekara | |

The TMall junction that intersects Langata road, Mbagathi Way and Mai Mahiu road has been a death trap to motorists for years.

The majority of the Accidents involved pedestrians who attempt to cross the expansive lanes.

NTSA has continuously tallied Langata road as one of Nairobi’s most dangerous roads owing to deaths from accidents.

The series of footbridges being put up along the highway will go a long way to address the challenges of pedestrian deaths.

The Spanish contractor, Centunion said in a statement that their engineering capabilities will ensure the pedestrian crossings are put up in record time to avert more deaths.

The firm is responsible for the construction of an overpass that will see Langata road cross over the Tmall junction to alleviate jams.

The project is being supervised by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), and is expected to be opened in 2024.
