Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has publicly rebuked Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku for what he termed as “public incitement” over development projects.
Kindiki made the remarks during a meeting with over 5,000 elders from Embu, co-hosted by both leaders. Ruku had used the platform to urge the Deputy President to fast-track road tarmacking in Siakago, a move that appeared to frustrate Kindiki.
“You’re now part of Cabinet,” Kindiki said sharply. “Don’t incite the public with complaints—offer solutions. The Cabinet is the place to handle such matters.”
He emphasized that Ruku should leverage his influence in government to drive development, rather than airing grievances in public. “The President entrusted you with that flag. Respect it—it’s not just a piece of cloth,” Kindiki added.
Earlier in Meru County, the DP attended a church service and announced that 400 markets were under construction nationwide, including 14 in Meru.
Later, he visited Ndumberi in Kiambu County to meet with boda boda and mama mboga saccos, encouraging them to support Kenya Kwanza’s development agenda.
