19 Bush-babes: Kenya Breweries Team Set For Rhino Charge

Kenya Breweries Limited through their brand Whitecap announced their involvement in the 2022 prestigious Rhino Charge event, one of the most revered off-road 4*4 challenge races in Africa. 

In addition, the brand introduced the team they are supporting for Rhino Charge Team 19 Bushbabes, an all-female team that will be participating in their 12th Charge event.

The landmark event hosted by the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust aims at raising awareness and sensitisation towards the conservation and protection of Kenya’s mountain range ecosystems popularly known as the “Water Towers”

Speaking on the finalised partnership, Senior Brand Manager, Kenya Breweries Limited, Abel Ratemo endorsed the role Rhino Ark Charity had in sensitisation of environmental conservation through the competition. He added that KBL was pleased to join in the company of celebrated corporates that prioritise conserving the environments in which they exist.

Our experience was nothing short of special as we got to enjoy the unique adventure that is the Charge. “This year, we come in again as the official responsible drinking partner as we aim to continue to sensitize the motorsport world on the need to enjoy themselves in a safe environment. Together with Rhino Ark, we want to continue to champion and advocate for a better and healthier environment through targeted conservation activities”

KBL through its beer brand Whitecap have consistently promoted responsible drinking within motorsport and throughout their various campaigns across various motorsport events recently including; Kenya National Rally Championship, East African Classic Rally, Lionesses Rally among others.

Coupled with their Rhino Charge participation, the brand announced their partnership with the all-female Charge team, Bushbabes. 

Speaking at the event, Bushbabes Captain Petra Somen expressed her excitement at partnering with Whitecap as they plan to continue their positive showing at the Charge.

It has been a privilege to continually show up for this worthwhile cause to raise awareness on environmental conservation, something we are extremely passionate about.  We are also glad to be partnering with Kenya Breweries as we share similar values on promoting inclusivity and diversity in Motorsport and increasing sensitisation on conservation within our environs”

Last year’s edition managed to raise a total of KSH 1,050,000 which was invested in conservation efforts around Baringo County.

The event was initially conceived in 1989 to raise funds for the construction of the Aberdare Electric Fence and has so far raised over KSh1.6 billion for the vital projects managed by Rhino Ark.
