A suspect who was arrested after brandishing a pistol to steal from a Kibra resident has been released. – By Meshack Makau.
Vunus Noor Saad was accused and charged with robbery with violence.
On May 14 was armed with a pistol robbed Pius Ekai his Mobile phone valued at 17,000 at Makina area in Kibera before threatening him.
He denied the charges and was released on a Ksh. 500,000 bond.
If a person is accused with robbery, they face a fourteen-year jail sentence.
However, if the criminal was equipped with an offensive or dangerous weapon, or if he was in the company of one or more others, or if he wounds, hits, beats, or employs any kind of violence before, during, or after the robbery, he faces harsh penalties.
