A Police oficer who was arrested for malicious damage to property has been released on a 15,000 cash bail.

Following an investigation by the Unit last year, Police Constable Evans Kemboi of the Spring Valley Police Station took plea before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi.

On the night of September 25, 2020, the officer is accused of committing the crime along Jogoo Road in Eastlands.

Nickson Gitau filed a complaint in June of last year, prompting the investigation.

Gitau claimed that while driving home with his pals, he was confronted by the officer who was blocking his way along Jogoo Road in the middle of a traffic jam.

Gitau fled and sought safety at Jogoo Police Station when he sensed danger, but the officer pursued him and clobbered him in front of senior officers who ignored his pleas for help.

His case is set for pre-trial on March 3, 2022.
