Eng. John Tanui, principal secretary for ICT and the digital economy, welcomed a team from the Romanian Embassy in Nairobi, which was led by HE Dumitru Vasile, deputy head of mission, and Mr. Daniel Homorodean, vice president of the Cluj IT Cluster.
The discussion at the meeting was on prospective ICT-related projects for cooperation between Kenya and the Cluj IT Cluster.
Tanui informed the Romanian team that the Ministry was eager to put the nation’s Digital Super Highway based on the Digital Transformation Master Plan into action.
Cluj IT Cluster proposed to support Kenya’s advancement into the Digital Economy in four main areas: preparation, implementation, technical capacity building and expediting access to relevant funding.
Cluj IT is a cluster association of businesses involved in the IT sector, made up of university institutions, government agencies, and other entities that operate as catalysts.
Cluj IT also includes software developers and solution providers.
