German Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Drug Trafficking

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Court has sentenced a German national to 20 years imprisonment over drug trafficking.

Rommenswinkel Dieter, a German citizen was arrested, charged and convicted of trafficking 2,782.3 Kilograms of Narcotics worth 8.34 million. He was in a well planned move that also involved some local citizens who are under police radar for Hours now.

Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina of JKIA Court while passing the sentence said that the prosecution had proved their case beyond any reasonable doubt to warrant conviction and sentencing.

The court while passing the sentence said that punishment is made to deter,rehabilitate and serve as a warning to all other potential offenders. As result he was sentenced to 20 years in prison with an alternative fine of Ksh 20 million.

The criminal, who allegedly operated within the Kenyan market for years using his own proxies, was being waited for by police, who received a tip from members of the public who had previously noticed his suspicious and non-conforming movements by locals.
