Rurii By-Elections — UDA Accuses Police Of Harassment

United Democratic Alliance party has protested over police harassment in the Rurii byelections.

UDA party denounced heavy police presence and roadblocks, stating that some of their operatives had been detained in the run-up to the election.

In a statement, UDA said the police were being used to intimidate members of the public.

UDA stated that key agents were arrested by police officers.

Teresa Bitutu, a UDA candidate, encouraged the government to ensure peace via the police as they provide security for the upcoming Bonchari by-election.
