Ruth Odinga Caught Up In Kisumu Primaries Chaos

During the ODM party nominations, chaos erupted at the Urudi polling station in Nyakach, Kisumu county, prompting police to fire into the air to disperse the enraged crowd.

The incident temporarily halted the voting process, which was later resumed after the situation had calmed down.

Ruth Odinga, the former Deputy Governor of Kisumu, was leaving the polling station when the chaos began, forcing her security detail to whisk her away.

Ruth is competing for an ODM ticket with ex-Kisumu city manager Doris Ombara, former Kisumu tourism executive Rose Kisia, Beatrice Atieno, and Grace Akumu for the Kisumu women’s representative.

She’d received complaints from voters that someone was allegedly conducting a parallel voting process.

Ruth called for peaceful, free, fair, and credible party primaries as he visited various polling stations in the morning.

The allegations sparked outrage among voters, who demanded free, fair, and transparent party primaries.

Nyakach OCPD Daniel Chacha confirmed that an aspirant stormed the Urudi polling station and was confronted by ODM officials.
