President Elect Ruto ‘Rejects’ Congratulatory Ads

Public institutions that want to send congratulatory messages to President-elect Ruto should do so through their respective websites, portals, or social media accounts.

The office of President-elect William Ruto has instructed all ministries, county governments, and public institutions not to use public funds to send congratulatory messages to incoming Head of State William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Mr. Davis Chirchir, the Chief of Staff in the President-office, elect’s stated in a circular dated September 7, 2022, that the decision was made in accordance with the incoming Ruto administration’s commitment to cut non-essential expenditure.

Korir said such adverts fly against the constitution 2010 dispensation on prudent and responsible use of Public Finances
