President William Ruto has called on the Water Services Regulatory Board, the Ministry of Water and the Nyeri County Government to lower water tariffs to match the economic realities of local residents.
Speaking in Othaya Town, the President emphasized the need for water to remain affordable and accessible to all Kenyans.
During his visit, he also laid the foundation stone for a Sh325 million modern market that will host 1,000 stalls, cold storage facilities and ICT hubs an initiative aimed at boosting trade and improving livelihoods in the region.
Ruto addressed residents and traders, outlining the government’s broader development agenda for Nyeri County.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots economic transformation, promising to prioritize projects that directly uplift ordinary citizens.
