President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic and economic relations with Finland, following high-level talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a statement on his official X account, President Ruto said the discussions focused on expanding trade and investment opportunities between the two nations while enhancing multilateral engagement on global challenges.

He emphasized Kenya and Finland’s shared commitment to advancing peace and security in conflict-stricken regions including Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.

“We value our close diplomatic ties with Finland and are committed to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” Ruto wrote, adding that peace remains the cornerstone of growth and shared prosperity.
