Ruto: Kingmaker curves hustler niche for Statehouse amid criticism

Deputy President William Ruto addresses crowd

Hate him for defying protocols and campaigning in the midst of a pandemic, or love for his hard stance on providing for the ‘hustler nation’, 2022 Presidential aspirant William Ruto is a smart politician.

Since the unveiling of the Building Bridges Initiative, DP Ruto already sensed his guaranteed term in office will be compromised. The Uhuru-Raila pact signified the creation of a political storm that made it hard to pin point which side the opposition leader stood.

After successfully sidelining him to the stands, President Uhuru openly disclosed that his relationship with his deputy was in tatters.

Ruto openly criticised the contents of the BBI report in front of his boss, despite President Uhuru alleging that matters pertaining the BBI were discussed prior to the launch.

Shortly after pleas by the president to cool him down, the Sugoi bred former chicken farmer did not relent on his quest to occupy State House.

Ruto has been commanding mammoth crowds in parts of the Central, Rift valley and practically anywhere else he sets foot on.

This notion has got presidential hopefuls already in fears that Dr. Ruto will end decades of dynasty rule.

In his campaign trail, Ruto continues to touch the hearts of the common citizen, seemingly ignoring the well off, and inciting hustlers to fight for their constitution rights and equality.

He has consistently leveled attacks at the BBI report for aiming to create positions for individuals, and constantly asked why the ‘winner takes all’ policy in Kenya’s elections has become an issue prior to his 2022 possible election.

His statements have earned him heckles and opposition from the opposition party itself, with constant calls for him to quit office and assume the role of an opposition leader.

Only time will tell if the country will survive through another year even as political temperatures sky rocket, barely two years to the general elections.

Be that as it may, one must really admire the vigor and politricks that DP Ruto and his allies put against the infamous deep state. Kenyans world over are keenly watching the unfolding events while pushing for peace.
