Ruto opts to support independent candidate Bader in Msabweni by- elections

Deputy president William Ruto is likely to support an independent candidate in the forthcoming Msabweni by- elections.

In the clearest of the indications Ruto in a meeting with the tanga tang a mps from coast Thursday morning held a meeting at his official residence in Karen

 Ruto met independent candidate Feisal Abdallah Bader who seeks to replace the late Suleiman Dori as Msambweni MP.

“Met an aspirant for Msambweni parliamentary seat Feisal Abdallah Bader in the company of Coast MPs,Athman  sharif {lamu east} @jicho pevu{nyali}Owen Baya {kilifi north},Khatib mwashetani {lunga lunga}and @Hon Jumwa{malindi} at Karen Nairobi county” Ruto tweeted.

“After the meeting Mohammed Ali in a tweet said Msambweni sealed team Independent-Feisal Abdala Bader let the people decide”.

On Wednesday jubilee party through the secretary general had announced that they the party will not field a candidate in the by- elections against ODM, citing the working relationship it has with ODM, and the current issues the country is facing.

However, Ruto insisted he had wanted the ruling outfit to field a candidate.

Sharlet Mariam, who decamped from ODM, made a show at the Jubilee Party headquarters on Thursday demanding that she be handed the party’s ticket to contest in the by-election.

 In a rare   support Ruto acknowledged Mariam adding that if she asks for his help in contesting for the position he will be willing to support her.

The move by Bader may lock out Sharlet out of Rutos support as they will need to coelece around a single candidate if he stands a chance against the an ODM candidate.

The elections are set for December 15 and it will be an all-out campaign pitying Raila and Joho on one side versus the Tanga Tanga team.
