Ruto Picks Former Kisii MP As Solicitor General

Mose's name was forwarded by the president to the National Assembly for approval prior to formal appointment.

Former Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose has been nominated by President William Ruto to be the new Solicitor General.

The selection could boost Ruto’s popularity in Kisii and Nyamira counties ahead of his upcoming tour of the region.

It would also soothe leaders’ suspicions that Ruto has ignored the region in important governmental appointments.

Mose’s name was forwarded by the president to the National Assembly for approval prior to formal appointment.

Mose, if approved, will succeed Ken Ogeto.

President Uhuru Kenyatta named Ogeto to the role for a five-year term in March 2018.

Ogeto took over for Njee Muturi, who was later promoted to State House Deputy Chief of Staff as a result of the changes.

Mose ran unsuccessfully for the Kitutu Masaba parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket.
