Ruto, Raila to attend Nyanza Investment Conference

President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga are expected to attend the Nyanza International Investment Conference in Kisumu.

The head of state will lead a team of local and international investors to explore the region’s untapped investment opportunities.

Information and Communication Technology CS Eliud Owalo announced that President Ruto will officially open the conference and deliver a keynote speech on June 28 and 29. Owalo also mentioned that he has consulted with Raila, who has agreed to participate in the upcoming conference.

“As a leader from Nyanza, Raila has extensive knowledge of the region’s development opportunities and untapped potential, making his presence crucial for the summit,” Owalo said during a preparatory meeting with doctors and health professionals on Thursday.

The CS added that they have reached out to governors from the region and Members of Parliament (MPs) to participate in the conference. The event, to be held at Ciala Resort, aims to foster development across the six counties in the region by attracting both local and international investors.

“This conference is a step towards transforming Nyanza into an economic powerhouse by leveraging its untapped investment opportunities,” Owalo stated.

The conference will bring together local and international investors, national and county government officials, and the private sector to explore investment opportunities in the region. It is expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economy by enabling participants to capitalize on the available opportunities.

The conference is organized under the theme, “Nyanza Rising: Towards Economic Transformation for Socio-Economic Growth and Development”
