President William Ruto has received letters of credence from eight newly appointed ambassadors to Kenya in a ceremony held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at State House, Nairobi.
The envoys included Farid Ouahid Dahmane (Algeria), Katalin Nyirati (Hungary), Catherine Moe (Norway), Yurii Tokar (Ukraine), Gisele Fernandez Ludlow (Mexico), Hatem Yousri Hosni (Egypt), Kristina Radej (Slovenia), and Abdusalom Khatamov (Uzbekistan).
The presentation of credentials is a diplomatic tradition that formally authorises an ambassador to begin their official duties in the host country.
In his address, Ruto assured the envoys of Kenya’s commitment to strengthening partnerships in key areas such as climate change, education, and infrastructure.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, do accept your letters of credence and authorise you to pursue the interests of your government within the territory of Kenya by fostering the bond of friendship and promoting to the widest possible extent within the law the aspirations of the peoples of our nations,” he said.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, senior government officials, and representatives of the respective embassies attended the ceremony.
The event followed a similar one held a week earlier, on September 3, 2025, when Ruto received credentials from nine other ambassadors.
It also came days after the President nominated and redeployed 20 Kenyan diplomats to new postings worldwide.
State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said the nominees are awaiting vetting by the National Assembly, describing the move as part of efforts to strengthen Kenya’s diplomatic footprint and advance the administration’s economic and social transformation agenda.
