President William Ruto has strongly urged his newly sworn-in Cabinet to serve with equity.
Following the swearing-in ceremony at State House, the President stated that he expects all 24 Cabinet members to serve all Kenyans equally, regardless of their regional background.
“I know there are regional and community persuasions. Respect your oath of office and serve all Kenyans equally,” Ruto said.
“You have sworn to the constitution. I expect each and every one of you to uphold the constitution and the rule of law to be front and centre of our government.”
Ruto congratulated the appointees and assured them of his full support as they carried out their duties.
“I look forward to working with all of you. You have my support because you have no other option but to succeed. In your success is the success of our administration and the success of our country,” Ruto said.
The head of state also asked his Cabinet to Keep a bible verse to their desks as they work in the respective ministries.
According to Ruto, the verse will help the Cabinet to work as they are expected.
He quoted James 4:17
“He who knows what is right and does not do what is expected of him or her should know that it is a sin. I have told you what is right, if you do not do it you will not only miss heaven but have a problem with me,” he said.
However, Ruto said he looks forward for the Cabinet to serve all Kenyans.
“We should make sure that everyone responsible in their ministries has the knowledge that is required so that we deliver to the people of Kenya,” he added.
