Ruto to Executive: “We Must Deliver, Failure Is Not an Option”

President William Ruto has issued a firm rallying call to his Cabinet and senior government officials, urging them to remain focused and united in delivering on the Kenya Kwanza administration’s transformation agenda.

Speaking Thursday morning during the Third National Executive Retreat at the KCB Leadership Centre in Kajiado County, President Ruto emphasized that the government cannot afford to let down the millions of Kenyans who entrusted them with leadership.

“We cannot fail. If we don’t succeed, we’ll have let this country down in a very profound way,” the President declared. “A lot is at stake. I will always be there to lead this team.”

The two-day retreat is focused on evaluating progress under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), with emphasis on key sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, education, and job creation. President Ruto acknowledged that the journey has not been smooth, citing the need for tough and strategic decisions to move the country forward.

“The path to transforming our country has been bumpy and demanding,” he noted. “But we are already seeing the dividends of our bold choices. We must now build on that momentum.”

Ruto reflected on the public trust placed in him, sharing a personal encounter with a voter in Mombasa who believed in his candidacy because of his bold rhetoric. “There are people who voted for me whom I didn’t expect to,” he said, pointing to the power of conviction and credibility in leadership.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki also addressed the gathering, echoing the President’s sentiments. Kindiki noted that the administration’s radical reforms are yielding results in areas such as infrastructure, education, and employment.

“We are making significant progress in the transformative journey of uplifting the well-being of our citizens,” said Kindiki.

President Ruto closed his address with a powerful reminder: “I always knew that changing this country would not be easy. But I also knew that it is possible, if we do it together.”

The Executive Retreat serves as a critical checkpoint for the Kenya Kwanza administration as it seeks to solidify its legacy through unity, accountability, and action.
