Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Police had a rough time controlling overlapping motorists from Nairobi, resulting in a night-long traffic jam.

Thousands of motorists spend the night on the road while rushing to attend the Safari Rally event in Naivasha, Nakuru county.

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Police had a rough time controlling overlapping motorists from Nairobi, resulting in a night-long traffic jam.

In an advisory to the public, KeNHA urged motorists to observe lane discipline in order to prevent further congestion in the area.

Alternatively, KeNHA asked motorists to use the Naivasha, Njabini-Ol Joro-Orok-Lanet-Nakuru Road.

The Safari Rally Championships is Kenya’s biggest motorsport event. The event attracts thousands of petrol enthusiasts and has been ranked among the most anticipated motoring event in the world.

Rally cars speed through vast Naivasha terrain, littered with wild animals and some of the most challenging routes in the WRC circuits.
