Safari Tour Operator Charged with Defrauding Tourist of Ksh 1 Million

A Safari Herd tour operator has been charged in a Nairobi Court for swindling thousands of US Dollars from a foreign National using false promises.

Patrick Kiilu Muthini was arraigned before Magistrate Ndombi at Milimani Law Courts for obtaining USD 8,180 from a tourist pretending he would facilitate his travel activities.

According to the prosecution, Muthini on diverse dates between October 4, 2024 and December 30, 2024 being a tour operator at Safari Herd, unlawfully obtained the said amount from Filip Martens by falsely pretending he would facilitate his tourist activities in various parts of the Country which never materialized.

He denied the charge and was released on Ksh 500,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
