Safaricom Closes Two Rivers Shop

Safaricom has closed its retail store in Two Rivers Mall in order to streamline operations, according to the telco.

“As we continue to streamline our business operations to better meet customers’ needs, we wish to inform all our customers of the closure of our Two Rivers retail center with effect from August 31, at the close of business,” Safaricom stated.

The customers will now be directed to Village Market Shop which remains open.

“Starting September 1, 2022, our customers in the area can continue accessing all our services from the Village Market retail center or nearby care outlets.”

The closure is the result of decreased foot traffic in shopping malls due to four years of space oversupply and a shift to smaller upcoming centers that are more convenient.

The shop opened in 2017 following the opening of Two Rivers to serve mall customers as well as those from the catchment areas of Ruaka, Redhill, Kabuku, and Limuru, as well as to reduce heavy footfall experienced in the Village Market Shop.
