Kenya’s Nairobi Safari Ya Wasanii, a 90-minute performance, will commemorate Safaricom’s 20 years of assisting Kenya’s creative sector.
YouTube and local TV stations will broadcast the two-part program on December 26 and 31, 2020, at 8:00 PM.
The performance is a component of Safaricom’s anniversary festivities and the company’s continued support of Kenyan musicians. Additionally, it supports the brand’s “TwendeTukiuke” campaign, which promotes pushing past perceived boundaries.
Sylvia Mulinge, Safaricom’s Chief Customer Officer, commented, “In the past two decades, Safaricom has supported and transformed the lives of many artists in the creative industry in Kenya. The show will serve as a reminder of our journey as a company and the artists who have helped us communicate with our customers through music and other forms of art.”
Leading Kenyan performers, such as Khaligraph Jones, Mercy Masika, Eric Omondi, Wyre, Redsan, Juacali, and others, will play at the concert. It will also draw attention to Safaricom’s extensive musical contributions over the years.
Artists from previous Safaricom events, such as Niko na Safaricom Live, Kenya Live, Twaweza Live, and the BLAZE Summits, will be included. There will also be performances by jazz artists from the Safaricom Jazz Festival, gospel artists sponsored by Safaricom’s Groove Awards, and members of the Ghetto Classics and Safaricom Choir.
Safari Ya Wasanii, which celebrates 20 years of working with musicians and assisting the creative sector, will be a manifestation of Safaricom’s commitment to revolutionizing Kenya’s music and arts landscape.
