Safaricom MPESA Services Set To Be Unavailable At Midnight

Telecommunications giant Safaricom has announced a scheduled system maintenance set for Sunday night, July 14, 2024, from 11 PM to 4 AM on Monday, July 15, 2024.

During this window, the company warned that access to several essential services would be unavailable, leading to potential disruptions for customers.

In a statement, Safaricom indicated that key services impacted by the maintenance include popular transactions such as Lipa na M-PESA, Paybill, and Buy Goods services.

Additionally, users may experience intermittent access to international money transfers, including Western Union, as well as M-PESA Global and both the M-PESA App and my Safaricom App.

“To meet our promise to always offer worry-free superior customer experiences, we will be conducting a scheduled system maintenance,” the statement read, assuring customers that the company remains committed to providing high-quality services.

While the scheduled maintenance will affect selected services, Safaricom clarified that all other functionalities, including voice calls, data services, SMS, and many M-PESA functions, will remain operational throughout the maintenance period.

Safaricom expressed its understanding of the inconvenience this situation may cause and extended its gratitude to customers for their patience and understanding as the company works to enhance its systems.

Customers are advised to plan their transactions accordingly to avoid disruptions during the maintenance period and to stay updated through communication channels for any changes or additional information.

As one of the leading telecommunications providers in Kenya, Safaricom continues to prioritize customer service and the improvement of its infrastructure to meet the growing demands of its user base.
